A little info on Guerilla Investing and Dale
You can probably see my little intro to the left of this text right now but if you’ve headed this way you probably want to know more about me! My name is Dale Heishman and I am from Toronto Ontario. I’ve been living in Ontario all my life and actually originally grew up in Hamilton. I am an elevator mechanic by trade and I moved to the big city because that’s where the work is! The best thing about downtown Toronto is you’ll never run out of elevators to fix!
I am a huge hockey and football fan, cheering for my local Maple Leafs and my almost local Buffalo Bills. I don’t even think I am exaggerating when I say I haven’t missed a Leafs game in 20 years! But I’m rambling on about stuff that should only really be assumed when reading a Canadians about me page, we sure love hockey.
Now let’s get down to what you really want to hear about; my investments. I have been a DIY investor for a little over 20 years and I take a lot of pride in my ability to analyze a companies worth and pick stocks that may be undervalued or avoid those that are overvalued. There are very few hobbies that make you a lot of money in this world. I consider fundamental analysis of a specific company for me to be a hobby, and it makes me a decent amount of money! Yeah yeah, call me a nerd if you want, but you’re obviously here to learn.
I hope to be retired within the next 10 years and spending my time with my wife and putting my two children through college. I’ve always been a FIRE enthusiast and although I started a little late, retiring in my early 50’s would be an achievement worthy of celebration.
What will I write about?
The purpose of this blog will be about me adapting my investment strategies as I go through the late stages of my working life to a more conservative approach. I have always been a fast paced and aggressive investor but with me getting so close to retirement this may not be the best choice. I will be mostly sharing websites that I feel have helped me improve my knowledge and returns on my portfolio and I hope they will help you too! My posts will mostly be opinions from these articles as I don’t declare myself an expert by any means! I will leave the teaching to those who are, and the learnings to be shared between us!
I hope you enjoy!
